I used to be obsessed with Starbucks PSL several years ago. But I noticed one year they changed the recipe of the pumpkin syrup and it didn't quite taste the same to be anymore.
The taste became almost too sweet and fake that it didn't taste like the real pumpkin to be anymore. Since then, I have explored trying to make different pumpkin-flavored goodies at home to still get my fix. And now, I have found my go-to pumpkin drink recipes that give me fall vibes without artificial aftertastes AND significantly less sugar.
If you are a PSL fan then this is for you, my friend. I get it, sometimes having your coffee or latte made for you is what makes it taste that much better. But I promise that this might change your mind on where your next PSL comes from - Starbucks or Cafe de Casa.
All you need is a few ingredients!
What you need:
2 cups dairy or non-dairy milk (I used Elmhursts nut milk)
3 tablespoons pumpkin puree
½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons maple syrup
½ cup strong coffee (or 2 shots of espresso)
What to do:
Mix your milk, pumpkin puree, and spices in a small pot on the stove until warm/hot. You could also put this into a frother without the froth setting to mix & warm.
Pour 1/4 cup of coffee into a mug and top off with the stovetop mixture.
Sip on your fall vibes right from the comfort of your own kitchen!
